STUDIO SERVICES
The studio is located in historic downtown Charleston, SC. The studio space is divided into 2 areas: printing and painting. I offer personalized service in a collaborative atmosphere, which includes full use of the facilities, during class and open studio time.

Print Studio:
Printing-Monotypes and Intaglio:

A day in the studio includes inks, set up and clean up time, paper handling, etching tools, rollers of varies sizes, plexi plates, use of the press, and assistance with teaching different methods of printing when needed. The printing, blotting, and curator of the works are done with great care assuring excellence in the finished print.

A full color palette of colors is laid out in advance. For intaglio artists there are various sized zinc plates and various plate-making techniques such as hard and soft ground, aquatint, sugar-lift, engraving, Chine Colle, and others. From the beginner to the advanced artist, I will work to accomplish your goals.

Painting Lessons:
Color theory, composition, value and spatial relationships are explored. Each student will be given individual attention. Private lesson and/or small classes are held during the months of September to June.

The Press:
The print studio has a Martech manually operated, gear driven intaglio press. The bed size is 32" x 54". The printing bed holds up to 30" x 40" sheet of paper. There is a hot plate, which measures 18" by 24". Acid and water trays are available. Copper plates of various sizes can be purchased.

Fee:
Full day session from 9:00 to 5:00 is $245.00. (Inclusive of everything except paper). There are no half-day sessions. Payment is due at end of session and/or when you pick up your artwork.

*The fee includes oil-based ink, oil sticks, plates, solvents, shop tools, brushes, scrappers, palette knifes, etc
